I closed my garage door on the bumper of my car making a deep scratch.  The car just didn’t feel right anymore so I stopped washing or caring about it.  Then met Steve through a friend and asked him how much it would cost to fix.  He quoted me a homie discount which was less than half of what I got quoted at some other places.  Growing up, I always heard that you’d be lucky to find to find a body shop and/or mechanic that you can really trust.    

Decided to take him up on his offer; got the same estimate.  Everything went as smooth as can be.  The car was very professionally repaired, washed, vacuumed, and waiting for me on the day that they said it would be done.  Super attentive service (Baylon) and no cutting corners.  I know they definitely could have charged me a lot more, so I’m very appreciative.  The car looks great and I’m ready to start taking care of it again.  Finally found that body shop you can trust.

I’ll definitely be sending everyone I can this way now.

This place is AWESOME!  I crashed my car into a pole at Safeway this morning and frantically searched yelp for a good shop in the area.  Within an hour of the original call, I was picked my car scratch free, looking like nothing happened.  They also had a great price.  

SO happy I found this place!  On top of super quick service, they were ver nice and friendly as well.  Highly recommended!

This shop did an excellent job on my car when it was involved in a hit and run earlier in the month of April 2010. The staff are very professional  and honest. They repaired my car very fast and made it look like I just bought off the show case. Thanks Auto Body Shop for doing an excellent job.

Fellow yelper Jason, the “insurance agent”, highly recommended  auto body garage(I asked him after reading some mixed reviews on other auto body shops).  Steve and Chi are professional and helpful, explained the process on my car being worked on.  I received daily calls on the status from Chi, (when the insurance adjuster arrived to estimate the charges, when my vehicle is being repaired,etc). Today I picked up my vehicle with a straight body with no dents and they also polished my car,cleaned the rims, and tires are bright.

Steven Liu is quite possibly one of the most honest gentlemen in this business that I have seen.  I did something dumb recently, as a result of which the rear window wiper on my brand new Xterra got damaged.  I was fretting about it all of Sunday while the body shops were closed thinking that it would cost me in excess of a $100 to get it fixed.  On Sunday morning, I diligently made my way to my favorite autobody shop to get an estimate from Steven, which I knew was going to be the lowest and most honest quote that I can possibly get in the market.  Steven looked at the wiper for 5 minutes and declared that my analysis of the situation was completely flawed and all it would cost to fix the damages was a mere $2 part.   He ordered the part right away and was even kind enough to install it for free two days later.  In this day and age, to fix a blatant and asinine mistake for $2 is unheard of.  These guys are great!  Do yourself a favor and come get your dents fixed here

Outstanding service.  I’ve taken my car here twice for body work that wasn’t covered by insurance.  In addition to giving me a highly competitive rate, Steven told me how I could save a substantial amount by not doing 100%.  Since minor dents and scratches happen frequently in city driving and parking, I’ve saved a lot thanks to his good advice.  He also offers to repair all minor scratches for the life of your car without an additional charge – what a deal, and they’re nice too!

I can’t say enough great things about this body shop.  They did some insurance-related repairs for me last year, and were very professional and fair.  When I needed some out-of-pocket work this year, I went right back.  Again, I was treated kindly and respectfully.  Steven did his best to make sure the repair cost me as little as possible, and even did some gratis work on the scuffs and scrapes my car has picked up over the past few years.  Did I mention that the work was done in one hour while I sipped tea at the Starbucks around the corner?  Auto Body Garage is truly a class act, which is extremely rare–especially in the car repair business.  I only wish I could give six stars.

I have to say that their service is terrific.  They fixed my car on time and within the cost Steven told me.  They also made my car looked exactly like new as the day I picked it up from the Lexus dealer.  I mean the only thing missing was the “new car smell”.  I would highly recommend this place based on my experience here.  They are honest and courteous.  What else could you want from a body shop? BTW, Chi who works there is cool and speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

So about 2 weeks ago i parked my car a block away from my house and some chump dented my hood. Being that I had two holes in the middle of my hood, I decided to go on city search and search for a good repair shop. After reading review after review, I finally decided to go with autobody garage since they said they would work something out with cash paying customers on their website. I took my car there on friday and to my surprise it was done on monday. Can I Say WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Their customer service was awesome, im glad i found a honest shop to take my car to. Another good thing was they explained to me about how to take care of my new paint job and were super meticulous. They even washed my car and cleaned my interior (after I left it with them super dusty)! Thanks!

I had a pretty bad accident involving my front bumper and hood with some internal parts as well. These guys know how to treat their customer, trying to locate best available part and price. I was informed about all the procedures with clear explanation. I do recommend this shop for any cars.

An accident made a dent on the rear passenger door of my 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx. I searched over the internet for a good body shop in SF area. Auto Body Garage Center caught my eyes with a 5 star customer rating. However, when I went there for estimation, I was not so impressed by the look of the facility and make me some kind of doubt about other people’s rating. After I read all the ratings, and talked to the service manager about my concerns, I decided to do my repair there. I brought my car in on Tuesday and they have already contacted the insurance company that is reliable for the accident, and got an update about the cost of the repair. The service manage also drove me to the car rental place to get a rental car. The repair lasted 4 days as promised. When I pickup my car on Friday, it was as good as before the accident. I was so happy with the work and the service. I definitely recommend this body shop. Their work earned my trust.

I LOVE my cars and bikes. And I am VERY, VERY meticulous about them. How meticulous? In the past, 2 body shops said to me, “We do not have your level of quality and we cannot meet your expectation.” And one of them even offered to refund money and asked me to take my car elsewhere… Having said that, I am very impressed with the quality of work at Auto Body Garage. Color matches perfectly and the repair is virtualy not detectable. I recommend this shop to anyone, I mean ANYONE. On top of the best quality of work I have ever seen, customer service is also top notch. Steven and Chi always made themselves available and listened to what I wanted to say or ask. And they answered everything to my satisfaction. And most of them are very small things and I bet other shops won’t even bother to listen. I can tell they really care what they do and are proud of what they do. They even touched up and fixed some other scratches (not the ones I initially brought my car to the shop for) on my car. They also showed me how to take care of my cars and bikes (such as waxing, polishing, touch-up, etc). Now my car looks like new again (not only me but everyone looks at may car says so) . These guys are the BEST!!!

I rear ended a SUV in my 99 Honda Civic sedan a few weeks ago. We all know accidents can be very stressful to say the least. Ian and crew mad this ordeal a whole lot easier. I had just liability and was 100% responsible for repairing my vehicle. The passenger side headlight was completely smashed in, front right fender destroyed, the bumper was still OK and the hood was also really smashed in. The internal parts were really bent out of shape, the hood wouldn’t even shut! Given my budget, I could not afford all new parts. I needed it done mickey m0use style. I went to Bryant Auto Body and received a quote in a very timely fashion, and it was VERY reasonable! About 1,180 out the door. It ended up taking 3 days and the work is VERY professional. The internal parts look like they did before the accident and my hood closes now like it should. They did a great job of re-shaping everything and banging out my hood! As a final touch, they even did a light wash on the vehicle as I put it in pretty dirty. Perfect service, excellent work, thank you SO much Ian and crew! I highly recommend Bryant Auto Body.
Pros: Superb customer service, fast free quote, fast service, quality work!
Cons: They didn’t upgrade my engine to a viper engine! =) Joking of course, NO CONS

My new Jetta got big dents and scratches on both doors on the right-hand side. Qi took care of my car. The service is as good as what ppl said on CitySearch. Qi negotiated with my insurance company, and I barely said a word. After the repairing job, my car looks brandy new – they even hand washed it. Before I left with my car, Qi gave me a towel with which I can clean the car without leave any minor scratches. They are honest and considerate, so I would definitely rate the bodyshop 6 stars but I can only find 5 on CitySearch

I would recommend this body shop to anyone who is looking for great service, great auto body work, and great customer service. I had my car repaired at Auto Body Garage twice and both times I was treated as a customer and not just another customer, they made sure they provided the best advice and service for my car and I could honestly say each time I got my car back from the shop it was like nothing had ever happened to it, like it was new again. I would go to them again if I needed any future work on my car or I would recommend to friends about this place. They are straight forward and at the same time genuine. Scott

i came to this garage to repare a bamper and fender damages, the service there deserves only a high rating. Chiu, (must be some kind of manager) offered me to go to his office (not too many garages have a nice and clean office) to take care of paperwork. the guy was polite, professional and down to business. my insurance company was taking care of the bill and Chui suggested me not to worry about hussling with my insurance company and said that he would talk to them to settle my charges. so …. no phone stress for me. in the end of drop off Chui gave me a ride to the rental place, so i did not have to take a cab. considerig the work they do, all is fine as well. the parts of my car that were worked on look like new now. the shop even took care of some other scratches on my car without charging additional money. during my pick up Chui inquired if all loked good and if i was sattisfied with their work. these guys deserve some praise and recognition. if you are looking for great service, professional staff, then this is the place to go. cheers you all

This was the first time I had ever gotten my car repaired. I went to two other body shops and Auto Body Garage gave me a competitive price (not the cheapest and not the most expensive). I had to have my bumper replaced and my trunk re-alligned. The staff was very friendly and had several options for me. I got my car back in a timely manner and they helped me get a great deal on a rental car. The paint job was amazing, they made my car look like new again. I would recommend this place to anyone whose needing to get their car repaired and needs quality work done at a reasonable price.
Pros: great customer service, parking avaliable, understood the needs of the customer
Cons: Garage is located on the south of market, the rental location is not accessible by foot, owner had to give me a ride.

I recently had a bike messenger (karma will “door” you, punk!) slam his bike into my car and bail, leaving me with a scratched and dented rear quarter panel. After having done extensive research and having read all the reviews about this shop, I took my car in. I am EXTREMELY meticulous about my car and am the type of person who sees another car in traffic and notices that it has been in an accident since I notice the very slight variation in the paint after the repair. This is what I feared for my car. Not to worry…the match was perfect. I cannot tell at all that this was repaired. The match and bodywork is perfect. As others have stated, Steven is very professional and proud of his work and will go the distance to make it perfect. In addition, he touched up a few extra flaws around the car. His pricing is very reasonable (I could even say inexpesive…) and he stands behind his work. With so many shops in the SOMA area, it is hard to distinguish oneself, but this guy’s work and price sets him above everyone else.

I found this place through maps.google and went there because of the good reviews. My wife dented our car by driving slowly into the back of a truck. We don’t have third-party insurance to cover the damage and the manager gave us a good estimate for the cost of fixing it(I cross-checked with a mechanic friend). He advised us that it was probably not worth fixing and referred me to someone who might purchase the damaged vehicle.

Simply had a rear end to fix, got a quote from the VW dealer and these guys – huge difference! Turns out the parts were the same price and labor a bit cheaper but mostly they explained to me that VW was going to charge me for parts not needed – when VW insisted all the part changes were necessary. They also touched up other parts of the car for free and cleaned it really well (unlike VW). They were friendly and on time – they also pointed out a little detail they couldn’t get 100% right and didn’t charge me for the part and labor on that ( though i wouldn’t have noticed anyway…). I relaxed under the sun in their comfy patio while my car was being cleaned… These are good guys!

I got my car repaired back in Nov. 04. My car was delivered on time, and the affected area was matched 100% perfectly to the rest of the car. Almost two years later, it still looks great. I returned a couple of weeks ago to get an estimate on a door ding, and was directed to a 3rd party dent removal expert. Even so, the owner (Stephen) gave my car a free touch-up on several scratched areas that were unrelated to the dent. I hope I won’t need body work any time soon, but if the unexpected happens, these guys will be at the top of the list.

Here’s just another review to confirm what the other 15 are saying — 565 Bryant is a great body shop. I rear-ended this other car 10 days before I was leaving for a long vacation, and my car needed quite a lot of repairs — bumper, hood, grill, some work on the AC system, a paint job and so on. Steven really went out of his way to have the car ready on time and the job was amazing. You really couldn’t tell the car wasn’t brand new. Granted, it was fairly expensive, but I really wanted my car to look as good as ever, so they used new parts and German paint to match the original. They kept me informed at all times of the status of the repair, which gave me a good feeling. The final price was 10% above the initial estimate.

I was highly impressed by the quality and the speed in which they were able to fix my car. They gave me a ride to work, finished fixing my dent a day before I expected and did an excellent job matching my paint color. All of this was done at half the price of the other estimates that I recieved. I highly recommend this The AutoBody Garage Collision Center.

I still can not believe the service I received from Steve. He gave me my quote which was low, kept me up to date on my car, was easy to get a hold of, and got my car back to me in a timely manner and at a lower rate then quoted. I recommend this auto body garage to anyone who needs work done on their vehicle.

His team does incredible work using only “best practices” and Steven the owner even gave me a ride home himself…now that is service….and the price was very competitive as well! i was very pleased with all aspects of my experience with them.

Outstanding customer service, speed, and quality of service. I called on the weekend, and my part was delivered Monday afternoon, installed same day. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Steven is great, professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Definitely recommended–no need to shop around at competitors.

I recently crashed my sports car and took it here based on all the positive reviews I saw. Steven was unbelieveably helpful and incredibly honest. Even though he could have performed more than $22,000 in repairs on my car, earning a nice profit, he advised me that he thought it was wiser to get my insurance co. to treat the car as totalled and pay me for its value. He is really, really honest and very smart and helpful. I recommend this shop very highly.

I went to cityseach in order to fix my rear mirror, steven was very hepfull, I did not want to spend money on it, he temporaly fix it with free of charge, I really recomend his place. Great job.

I went in with a scratch/dent on my car and instead of trying to squeeze money out of me, Steven personally buffed it out *FOR FREE* and referred me to a dent specialist. He deserves a 10/10 rating, and it looked like his facility was very clean and professional. I will for sure be recommending all my friends to his shop. Thank you!

It could have been more expensive, but it wasn’t. the staff is experience and very pleasant to deal with – and they are honest about what they know and make it easy for me. They are very knowledgeable and i am very happy with the job they have done! my car is old and the parts are not easily (and cheap) to find (it’s an 85 honda weagon) but they managed to find some good ones! they even matched the color of my car perfectly. thanks!

Thank you to all those who have written a review for Auto Body Garage! If not for you guys, I would not have known where to bring my car in for repairs. The one time I leave my car parking on the street, it got hit! The whole driver side got smashed in. With my brand new car on the line, I wanted the best. I did my research and found out that Auto Body Garage has the best reviews. I brought my car in and got a whole walk through with the insurance procedure and also with the process of what is going to be done with my car. 8 days later, my beautiful 2004 BMW M3 convertible looks brand new again. Thank you Steven for the superb work! I hope I never have to see you again, but if I do I now know where to go.

I found this place on citysearch, and I want to thank all the previous reviewers. My experience with this place and Steven was great. He goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy. He gave me an awesome price and finished the job very promptly. He knows how to handle the insurance people. He is very personable himself and impressed me when came back to work on a Sunday to give me my car per my request. Compared to my other experiences, he did a better job at a better price and with a much better attitude.

I have been in a few fenderbenders and have never been as pleased with the repair service as I was with Autobody garage. They finished my car 2 days earlier than they said they would (in 3 days instead of 5) and cleaned and waxed the car to boot. The repairs look great. Since I was paying out of pocket and a bit tight with cash, Steven walked me through the most economical way to get my car looking good again (where reconditioned parts made sense and where it was worth it to get the factory parts). The initial quote was cheap and I did not get the dreaded “we found something else” call. Very honest, very friendly. Top notch all the way around

Steven at the AutoBody Garage is one of the most honest and trustworthy people I’ve worked with (hard to find in the auto industry, and therefore quite valuable). I highly recommend not damaging your car, but if you do you should definitely bring it here.

Have been a client for years. I find Steven to be an extremely professional and fair person to deal with. He has excellent ties with various insurance companies, which accomodates getting claims and coverage through in a short period of time. I have been very happy with this autobody shop and recommend it to everyone without hesitation.

Steven at Auto Body Garage is a joy to work with. He walked me through the whole insurance claims process something I wish I could say for my insurance company. When Steven was not available Lisa was right there to help answer any of my questions. I woudl highly recomend this Repair Facility to anyone, Five stars in my book.

The long story begins with a car, borrowed from my girlfriend, that got sideswiped by an 18-wheeler while parked in Potrero Hill. This was a 1996 Civic 4-door, and the truck basically started by ripping up the rear bumper and denting the rear fender. It then continued to gouge some scratches in side of the car, before proceeding to leisurely knock the driver’s side door mirror clean off. I took it to Auto Body Garage after seeing high ratings and unusually strong recommendations from many people on CitySearch. Lisa, a manager at this small shop at 4th and Bryant, helped me estimate a low plan and a high plan for payment, based on using remanufactured vs. new parts and other tricks. I approved everything and went on my way.

Based on the feedback I’d read, I was optimistic that this would be a good experience, but I was surprised when Steven started calling me every few days with updates about parts, and telling me the status with the insurance company and estimator. I also noted that he had a habit of mentioning that he’d found other broken parts on the vehicle as he was fixing the stuff that the insurance company had agreed to pay for. I had never worked with a mechanic like this.

Tonight I went over to get the car, and finally met Steven. It turns out that he’s very young for someone in the industry — still in his 20s — and he owns the shop. I learned that he’s always been interested in how cars work, and started the garage 8 years ago to pursue his interest. He also mentioned that he almost had to shut down the shop in the early days, but that it was saved by a wave of referrals from his first set of customers. He emphasized that he wanted to run an honest shop, and that it did pay off in the end.

When we were done settling up, he brought the car around, and I was amazed. It turns out that he had also repaired all of the small, off-estimate parts that he had mentioned. Little things, like a cracked tail-light and a deep scratch in a front panel that the insurance company didn’t pay for. He even hammered out a small bump in the hood, which wasn’t even part of the accident. I have to say that I was indeed expecting the doors, mirror and bumper to be repaired to better than before the accident. But this was totally unexpected: the entire left side of the car was basically brand new. Shiny new, like I had somehow traveled back in time. He did this before meeting me, and it was totally unrequested, totally on his own time.

I am so happy with my experience that I am going to bring another car in for some repairs next month. I’m also going to tell all my friends. This is the first mechanic I’ve ever known that went beyond making me feel like I got a fair deal.
